VanCAF 2016 is two weeks behind us, and over the course of June and July you can expect to see photos and videos from the weekend appearing on our website. If you have some great shots from this year’s event you’d like to share, please pass them along.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors for this year:

A special shout out to our hosts at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre for being wonderful hosts for 5 years now! Also, thanks to our sponsor Silverstring Media, who produced the very first VanCAF app. We were happy to be the launching point for the ConQuest project and are very excited to see where it goes from here!

We’re taking some time to recover from this year’s VanCAF, but we’ll be back with news soon. Please enjoy all the photos, and check back in late summer for updates on VanCAF 2017!

A Conversation with Lynn Johnston – May 21st

Posted: March 1st, 2016

We’re excited to make our first event announcement for VanCAF 2016 — and it features a very special guest!

Lynn Johnston, the award-winning cartoonist and creator of For Better or For Worse, will be making an appearance at VanCAF on Saturday, May 21st!

Starting at 12:00 PM, Doug Savage (of Savage Chickens) will host A Conversation with Lynn Johnston: a 45 minute discussion of Lynn’s experience in the comics industry, her inspirations, and her advice for fledgling artists and comic creators. Following the panel, Lynn will be joining us at the VanCAF Info Table for a book signing from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.

We’re honoured to be hosting an artist who has had such an influence on Canada’s cartooning legacy. Be sure to join us for this event!
