Ashley Hasfal is a professional 2D Designer and Comic Artist from Toronto, ON. She’s honed her craft in 2D TV animation as well as 2D design and Illustration, and that training has influenced her style as a comic artist/graphic novelist. As a kid, she grew up on spooky shows like Are You Afraid of the Dark, Roswell, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but always longed for stories that felt closer to home, about duppies ( a specific type of powerful spirit in Afro-Caribbean mythology that haunt people and places) like the Rolling Calf or Ole Higue. Ashley’s comics seeks to adapt these mythologies into funny, relatable stories.
