Brigitte Findakly was born in Mosul, Iraq, to an Iraqi father and a French mother, and lived there until 1973. She has been a colorist for comics, graphic novels, and comics magazines since 1982, collaborating with such publications as Pif Gadget, Le Journal de Mickey, and Spirou. She has also worked on such series as Les formidables aventures de Lapinot (Dargaud; The Marvelous Adventures of McConey, Europe Comics), Le Chat du Rabbin (Dargaud; The Rabbi’s Cat, Pantheon), Le Retour à la terre (Dargaud; Back to Basics, Europe Comics), and Ralph Azham (Dupuis; Fantagraphics in English).

She has been married with French comics creator Lewis Trondheim since 1993, living together in the south of France. In 2016, they collaborated on Coquelicots d’Irak (L’Association; Poppies of Iraq, Drawn & Quarterly), part biography and part historical account, acclaimed by readers and critics alike.
