Gregery J MillerCreators
Gregery Miller is an artist & writer from Massachusetts that specializes in detailed imaginative illustrations and comics. His work is inspired by surreal art, fantasy, mythology, nature, and folklore. In the past Gregery has worked professionally in the animation and gaming industries. He landed his first gig out of school with Clambake Animation Studio and Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. At Clambake he worked as a background and props designer on a new cartoon series. A few years later he began working with Hitpoint Games, Disney, and Microsoft. Through out his career so far he’s also created artwork for Urban Outfitters, The Wall Street Journal, D-Structure, and has animated videos for Free Speech For People. He has worked in set design, as a custom framer, as an album cover artist, and has designed props for indie films. Gregery has assisted contemporary artist Tavares Strachan in designing and building the “I Am” installation as a part of the Desert X Exhibition in Palm Springs, CA, as well as on a number of other exhibitions.
In 2016 Gregery was awarded a full STARS grant where he taught comics and stop motion animation to kids in Boston Public Schools through The Massachusetts Cultural Council. Then he took an artist’s residency with Mass MoCA’s Assets For Artists Program and was given a private studio along with a community of international artists where he was the first to ever produce a comic in the program.
By now it probably goes without saying that his passion is visual storytelling, as anyone can see when reading his original comic series, The Tales of Reverie. It is a full color ongoing series and world he’s been developing for years. It is loosely autobiographical and was initially inspired by vivid dreams and night terrors he sketched and recorded while growing up. He self-publishes and exhibits his comics at conventions around the country and is currently seeking a fitting publisher for the series.
Gregery is originally from Massachusetts and attended MassArt where he received his BFA in Illustration. He has lived and worked as an illustrator in The San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, and Mexico City, but now resides in Brooklyn, NY.
