VanCAF is run by the Vancouver Comic Arts Association, which is a non-profit society. Volunteers are an essential part of operating VanCAF – the show wouldn’t be possible without you!
Our festival is planned by a small but dedicated team of people, and we need your help to bring our plans to life. We’re looking for about 100 people who are interested in spending at least four hours working at the Festival throughout the weekend of May 17th, 18th, and 19th.
Volunteer jobs can be anything from handing out program guides, providing directions to visitors, helping set up the venue, answering questions, managing crowds of people, and even more. We need a diverse group of people with lots of different skills, from all different backgrounds.
VanCAF volunteers work in small teams, with each team responsible for a particular space or process essential to the Festival. Each team will have a team leader, who is typically a veteran of the Festival that knows their way around. You’ll also be working with VanCAF staff members and staff from the venue, so you’ll definitely have the chance to meet a lot of new people.
Volunteering at VanCAF is a great way to get hands-on event management experience, as well as the opportunity to meet other people who love comics, and help out the folks who create them. VanCAF volunteers get an exclusive VanCAF t-shirt, a poster, as well as drinks and snacks while you’re on site at the Festival.
